Ruth’s Chris

Steak House

With Silver Oak Cellars and Twomey Cellars

Sponsored by Amy & Jay Hendrickson, Southern Bank

Silver Oak Cellars

Silver Oak Cellars complements winery-owned fruit with grapes from top independent growers throughout the Napa and Alexander Valley appellations, giving their winemaking team access to the highest-caliber fruit to make Cabernet of the finest quality. Since the early 1970s, they have aged their wines exclusively in American oak barrels. Today, the use of American oak continues to be a hallmark of the distinctive Cabernet Sauvignons.

They give wine more time in the bottle, and the end result is a food-friendly, moderate-alcohol (13–14.1%) Cabernet that is drinkable upon release.

This dinner will be the 2015 Silver Oak Napa Valley New Vintage Release Party, and will be hosted by long-term TWFE friend and volunteer, Woody Joyner of Johnson Brothers/Mutual Distributing

Twomey Cellars

Continuous improvement – or the notion that our best wines are still ahead of us – has always been our driving force at Silver Oak. At Twomey, we combine this philosophy, experience, and a sense of curiosity to craft Pinot Noir, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc from outstanding vineyards and growing regions from California to Oregon. Always keeping in mind…it’s about your enjoyment with our wine.

Our approach is holistic, combining leading edge winegrowing practices with traditional techniques and sensibilities. In our vineyards we embrace modern scientific methods – mapping, planting, tracking, pruning, irrigating and tending to each block, each row and each vine individually. In the cellar we are constantly experimenting with innovative techniques and technologies that improve the quality of our wines.

To know the story of Ruth Chris’s Steak House, it is important to learn about the fearless founder, Ruth Fertel. With fierce ambition, she built a modest steak house into the world’s largest fine-dining company. Ruth opened up the restaurant in the 60’s and now has several franchises throughout the nation. The restaurant celebrated the 40th anniversary in 2005 and went public later that year. Decades after its opening, the restaurant continues to provide their customer with the same great service that Ruth prided herself.
